Stories of Qualitative Research - Phil Gordon, Head of UX Research at Skillshare

To all our qualitative research friends,

We are excited to kickoff our new interview series — Stories of Qualitative Research — where we chat with some of the best qualitative researchers across industries to find their stories.

Our first guest is one of our favorite long-time Reduct user Phil Gordon, who is now the head of UX research at Skillshare and has built an amazing career doing and leading UX research at companies like Thumbtack, Uber, and Spotify. We talked with Phil about his career journey and what he learned along the way. We also dived into what he called Iterative Research as well as a Customer Experience Council that he’s built since joining Skillshare.

We are creating this series to help you become a better qualitative researcher. So we want to focus on topics that are most top-of-mind for you — career advice, best practices and workflows, making real impact with research, etc. We also want to deliver these fascinating stories and valuable insights to you in the most consumable format — "Reducted" videos!

Here is a sneak peak of Phil generously sharing with us what he thinks are the top three things that make an exceptional researcher —

Follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter as we share the best bits of our conversations. We would also love to hear from you on what topics you’d love to hear as well as what questions you want to ask our guests — comment on social or write to us at hello@reduct.video!
